By the end of the month, it will reportedly be decided whether the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will be completed in Los Angeles or San Francisco. George Lucas and his executives will make the final decision based on the please of each city.
The mayors in both towns have already approved the concept. If it is built in San Francisco it will be located on Treasure Island. If it’s in Los Angeles it will be built in Exposition Park.
George lives in the Bay Area so some think that San Francisco is an obvious choice. However the Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti thinks that L.A.’s plan is a better idea based on the location.
“They’re proposing an island—versus here, which is the opposite of an island: a place where there’s fellow cultural institutions. It brings people who are not traditional museum goers into a museum.”
