The Los Angeles International Airport has completed a $70.5 million improvement project to its Terminal 6, which was a part of larger improvement program that cost the airport $8.5 billion and took almost two years to complete.
Terminal 6 got 20 new retail and dining spots, including The Marketplace by Wolfgang Puck (which serves champagne by the glass), Osteria by Fabio Viviani, Wahoo’s Fish Taco, The Habit, Point the Way Cafe (which serves local craft beers), and even the popular juice bar Earthbar.
The new stores include an M.Fredric boutique, MAC Cosmetics, and a Tumi store. In addition to the new spots, the terminal also got an improvement to 22,000 square feet of dining places and common areas that were already open. These changes are expected to bring in twice as much money from concessions.
Terminal 6 is a hub for Alaska Airways, and a secondary terminal for American and Delta, and after being built in the 1960s it’s been expanded twice which took a bit of a toll on the space. The terminal also got a new design based on the view of driving down Sunset Blvd from downtown Los Angeles toward the ocean.
