JetBlue founder David Neeleman is reportedly working on creating a new airline, and if he does it will be the first new American airline to launch in 13 years.
Earlier in the month David reportedly registered for a new business called Azura Airways Corp. in Darien, Connecticut. The airline was described as one “inspired by airline veterans who believe innovation is just the beginning.”
There were no other details about the plan or when it might come to fruition. A website for the airline has been taken down since it was registered. If it does happen, it’s unclear whether that would be its official name. JetBlue was originally called “New Air” and David wanted it to be called simply “Blue.”
