The company Intrepid Travel noticed the increasing trend of more solo travelers booking trips lately, so they decided to create some options to cater to that customer. The company says that more than half of their customers travel solo, which is a 38 percent increase in the past five years.
To accommodate to and appeal to this customer, they introduced three different new trips which include the 15-day “Classic Rajasthan” from $1,310 per person, a ten-day “South Morocco Discovery” from $900 per person, and a nine-day “Cafe Colombia” from $1,890 per person.
The travelers will have the option to purchase a single supplement if they want their own room, or they can request to be paired up with a another solo traveler to share a room. Those options are always made available for the regular trips as well, so solo travelers are always welcome no matter what. The company released a statement about the solo trip options.
“Travelling alone on a group tour has its perks. We’ve got expert local leaders on tap to show you around, ready-made friends who are itching to explore, just like you…all you have to do is turn up with a smile and a passport: we’ll handle the logistics, transport and accommodation. Independence is a good thing…but so is group karaoke until 2 am at a sake bar in Tokyo. So for all you lone wolves out there, welcome to solo travel, Intrepid-style.”
