It was recently announced that Hyatt would be pulling its listings out of the Expedia lineup but this is no longer the case. The two brands could not agree on terms for Hyatt’s Corporate Lodging Agreement, but now they have announced that they will remain “without disruption.”
A spokesperson for Hyatt spoke out about the situation.
“[We’ve]had productive discussions with Expedia and have agreed in principle on terms that address our concerns about distribution costs and flexibility. We expect that Hyatt hotels will continue to be distributed on Expedia platforms without disruption.”
The Expedia deal includes not just the main site of Expedia but also their other sites which include Hotels.com, Hotwire, Orbitz, and Travelocity. The sites all take commission on bookings which was likely the point of disagreement between the two.
