More hotels are making the move to a 24-hour cancellation policy. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is the most recent to share the news. The brand includes hotels such as Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and Kimpton.
A spokesperson for the company spoke out about the change.
“This new change will mean that the majority of the IHG estate will now operate under similar terms. The changes to IHG’s cancellation policy will provide our guests with greater consistency when managing their reservations and offer certainty for our owners.”
The new policy will begin in Europe this week and then extend to the United States August 4. Previously the cancellation policies were set up by region as well as the hotel brand. Marriott and Hilton were other hotels that more recently switched over their cancellation policies.
