Hilton is opening a new low-cost hotel called Tru that is being marketed towards millennials. The rooms are being offered at around $100, which is possible thanks to the fact that they’re smaller than normal hotel rooms.
In addition to being cheaper, the hotel rooms will offer food and alcohol around the clock which is meant to be an enticement to the younger crowd. Hilton says that the hotels are “grounded in value for business and leisure travelers.”
The Tru hotels have already started opening and will continue. The first one was opened in Oklahoma City a couple months back, and by the end of 2019 they’re expecting to open 150 more.
Hilton’s SVP Matt Wehling released a statement about the move.
“By breaking through the clutter of the midscale sector’s undistinguished offerings, Tru by Hilton will provide guests with experiences, and not just a place to stay.”
