For the foodies on the planet eating a Michelin starred meal can a goal within itself. But not all of those Michelin starred restaurants are exactly budget friendly. At least one is. The world’s cheapest Michelin starred meal is located in Singapore, and it only costs $1.42.
Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle was the only place to eat the famed chicken rice dish, but now a second location offering the meal has been opened as well.
The restaurant’s chef/owner Chan Hon Meng partnered with Hersing Culinary to open a casual restaurant spot called Liao Fan Hawker Chan. This is the food stall where the Michelin star came in to play, which was a welcome surprise to Chan.
“I didn’t know anything about the Michelin Guide, but I knew it was for a very ‘high’ type of food.”
People sometimes line up for hours to get a taste of his food.
