The Global Entry program was created to speed up the airport security process, and now getting accepted into it might get even faster. Currently, for $100 people can be approved to skip the security lines altogether.
A new program called Enrollment on Arrival wants to make the application process faster. People who have been approved for Global Entry can now get their interview taken care at the airport instead of having to wait for an appointment.
“Upon arrival, travelers will be directed to a primary booth designated specifically for Enrollment on Arrival. A CBP officer will conduct both the primary processing and Global Entry interview and collect the traveler’s biometrics to complete the enrollment. The traveler will then be cleared for entry into the United States and will be a Global Entry member.”
This is currently available at airports such as San Francisco International, Houston Bush Intercontinental, Houston Hobby, Austin Bergstrom, and Vancouver International.
