Gas prices are rising in the U.S. which has some wondering if summer travel plans could be affected. Bill Sutherland, the senior vice president of travel and publishing at AAA has released a statement about the possibility.
“Higher gas prices are already influencing the travel industry. The good news is people are still planning to hit the road. With nearly 80 percent of family travelers planning a road trip this year, higher gas prices are making shorter trips to national parks and theme parks the most desired travel destinations.”
He added that a quarter of Americans think the gas prices are too high but most still intend to take a road trip in 2017. They also found that Americans are willing to make some concessions to save money such as driving less, carpooling, delaying major purchases, and eating out less often.
