If you ever visit New York’s Baccarat Hotel and wish you could take something home, you actually can. If you pay for it. Every single item in the hotel will actually be available for sale come November.
Although none of those items are going to come cheap. Some of the listed items include candlesticks at $2,505, vases for $37,000, and chandeliers for $216,000. Baccarat knows that the crystal pieces are pricey, but they hope that visitors to the hotel will be more likely to be swayed into purchasing them than they would just randomly on an average day.
Hermann Elger, the chief operating officer of Baccarat Hotels and Resorts offered an explanation of the service.
“We’ve done some of our largest sales at 10:30 at night on a Sunday. The chance that a guest is still going to be in the mindset to make that kind of a purchase [at our flagship store] the next morning? It’s not so likely.”
