Electric planes could be soon a reality. The company Wright Electric is teaming up with the European budget airline EasyJet to hopefully make it happen within a year.
EasyJet is already known for its short flights, which led Wright Electric to see them as a good match for their battery operate plane plans. Their official partnership took place on Wednesday, and they expressed their desire to make the design functional within the next decade.
Wright Electric has reportedly already created a two-seater plane that runs fully electric, but creating the same for a larger passenger plane has different challenges. They hope that the same technology can be applied to planes carrying 150 people at some point. In accomplishing that, flights would be better for the environment and they could be cheaper for passengers as well too.
