In the U.S. there are quite a lot of rules about what you can and can not bring onto an airplane. Here are some things that you should not try to bring aboard. (Or some of them to the airport at all.)
Sporting Goods
Generally speaking, you can’t bring sporting goods onto the plane. That goes for things like skis, as well as things that would be considered self-defense items. In some cases carrying on ice skates is actually allowed.
Firearms
This sounds obvious and yet people try to carry guns onto planes all the time. Firearms must be checked with luggage, but gunpowder is prohibited entirely.
Anything Explosive
Anything that has the potential to explode on a plane is a no. That includes fireworks, paint thinner, etc.
