Donald Trump claimed that he would donate his first quarter salary as the president to the National Park Service and he seems to be making good on the deal.
Mike Spicer presented a $78,333.32 check at a recent press briefing.
“The Park Service has cared for our parks since 1916, and the president is personally proud to contribute the first quarter of his salary to the important mission of the Park Service, which is preserving our country’s national security.”
The National Park service needs all the money they can get since Trump’s budget cuts have left them short of $1.5 billion.
Interior secretary Ryan Zinke said that the donation would be used for the “infrastructure of our nation’s battlefields” which are need of hundreds of millions of dollars in maintenance.
