Disneyland in Anaheim has announced that they will be moving the park’s security checkpoint to include downtown Disney instead of just at the park entrances to Disneyland and California Adventure.
Reports say that the security will be moved by the end of the year, and there will be a checkpoint when guests leave the Mickey & Friends parking structure before they get on the trams or take the walk to Downtown Disney.
They will also be adding in two new security checkpoints in the Downtown Disney area. The goal of the changes is to add protection and also make the process easier for people who are exiting and reentering the parks throughout the day. With the new plan in place, visitors will only have to go through the screening process once, as opposed to multiple times depending on where they are.
Another checkpoint on the east side of the park will be moved as well, but that will come later after a new parking garage is built.
