The construction of Disney’s Star Wars Land is well underway but there is still a lot of unknowns about the addition at least as far as the public is concerned. The new attraction at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando is expected to bring in enough people that they are building new parking lots to prepare for it.
So far it has been announced that there will be at least two rides in Star Wars Land. One of those rides is one where guests will be able to steer the Millennium Falcon, and the other ride has been called a “ground breaking” ride where guests will find themselves “in the middle of a battle between the Resistance and the First Order in a race against time.”
Rumors about the ride include that the cars will be trackless, and that guests will get off the cars at a midpoint in the ride to continue on foot before getting back into their cars. There are also rumored to be hundreds of animatronics involved, including 150 Stormtroopers.
It has been confirmed that Disney has filed patents for interactive lightsabers, laser firing drones, and some other technology specific to the Star Wars theme.
