Delta Airlines travel app can automatically check passengers into flights 24 hours before their flight is set to take off. App users will get an alert that it’s time to check in, and then they will get access to their boarding pass within the app.
The app can also be used to change seats and even check bags.
Rhonda Crawford, who is Delta’s vice president of global distribution and digital strategy, released a statement about the idea.
“Our customers have told us Delta can eliminate some of their stress associated with upcoming travel if they know their boarding pass is ready and can see their seat assignment. Auto check-in provides that peace of mind in a simple, automated solution that also saves valuable time.”
Delta also now utilizes luggage tags embedded with RFID chips, which allows passengers to track their bags in real time and reduce the amount of lost luggage during traveling.
