The weather in Washington D.C. might affect the cities beloved cherry blossom blooms. The annual festival was moved up to March 15 from March 20 but then a snow storm came in.
The weather before the storm has been unusually warm which meant they were going to bloom earlier than usual. Mike Litterst, a spokesperson for the National Park Service, spoke out about the unusual circumstances.
“We had this real mild winter to bring the blossoms out early. Then when they were at their most vulnerable, here comes Old Man Winter to crash the party.”
