Each year Comic Con is held in San Diego and draws people from all the world. This year anyone who picked up some comic books during their visit is facing some new travel restrictions. The San Diego International Airport has banned comic books from checked luggage.
Apparently, the glossy pages of comic books are hard to deal with when viewing them through an x-ray machine and can slow down the security process. They’re requesting that people carry-on their comic books instead.

United announced that this was a TSA rule, but then TSA explained that it wasn’t. Either way the rule was only in place during Comic Con.
