The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport has brought in some mini horses as therapy animals to calm passengers down before they fly. Twice a month Denver and Ruby will come to the airport from the Seven Oaks Farm in southwest Ohio.
Wendi Orlando, a spokesperson for the airport made a statement about the move.
“It’s just to ease anxiety levels, put smiles on faces. Clearly that’s working. When you look at the passengers walking by, it just never gets old. They love seeing the horses.”
The horses are full-time emotional therapy animals, so when they aren’t providing their services at the airport they are doing so at nursing homes, community events, and hospitals.
Last year they dressed up as unicorns for their time at the airport.
