Shashank Nigam, the CEO of SimpliFlying is trying to encourage his employees to take all of their vacation time by docking their pay if they don’t. His policy is that his employees take a mandatory week off period every eight weeks.
This doesn’t just mean that the employees can stay home and do some telecommuting during their week. He also requires that they disconnect completely from email, texts, and all other forms of work communication.
Marco Serusi, a senior consultant at SimpliFlying spoke out about the plan.
“One of the biggest problems with previous holiday systems was that you could never really forget about work. With ours you are forced to disconnect. It literally is forced peace of mind.”
The team also takes four retreats together each year.
