Bill Murray has plans to open a Caddyshack themed sports bar in the Chicago suburbs. Bill and his five brothers reportedly have a “verbal agreement” in place for an 11,000 square foot space inside the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The hotel is located in the town of Rosemont which is about 30 minutes away from Chicago, and the new bar location will not be their first. In 2011 the Murray brothers opened the Murray Brothers Caddyshack restaurant at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.
The 1980’s comedy Caddyshack was actually written based on the brothers’ experiences working as caddies at golf courses in the Chicago suburbs, so the location for the new bar seems apt.
Bill’s son Homer also recently opened a sustainable restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, and Bill was on hand to pour shots for its grand opening.
