There are actually tons of whole foods that are great on the go. Mixed nuts are one great snacking option, as are squeezable packets of almond butter.
Greek yogurts are good if you have refrigeration, and if you don’t another great protein option is some sort of jerky. For less mess on the sweet stuff, go with freeze dried fruits.
Freeze waterbottles overnight to take on the go and they’ll stay cool and refreshing for hours when you take them out.
