Argentina and Uraguay will reportedly put in a joint bid for the 2030 World Cup. Each of the countries has individually hosted the cup in the past. Argentina hosted in 1978 while Uraguay hosted in 1930. The two are hoping that teaming up will increase their odds of winning the bid.
Argentina and Uraguay are going up countries such as China. To win the bid they’ll have to prove that certain aspects of their countries are up for the challenge. Important considerations are things like the quality of the roads, airports, hotels, and of course the playing fields.
The most recent World Cup took place in 2014 in Brazil. Brazil is the only South American country that has hosted the cup on two different occasions.
