Hollywood tour buses have been heading into the Hollywood Hills for quite some time, but now certain areas will soon be off limit to the onlooking tourists. Apparently, the city of Los Angeles has some concerns about safety.
New regulations for the tour buses will include banning the tour buses from certain streets altogether. Others include things like requiring that the passengers wear headphones while they are riding.
The streets in the Hollywood hills happen to be curvy and quite thin, making it imperative that drivers and pedestrians are maneuvering them carefully. There are sometimes over 100 tour buses traveling through the hills on any given day which can cause traffic jams for the people who live there or are actually using the route to get somewhere.
The tour busses reportedly have a tendency to break the driving laws in the area, and they also lie about where celebrities live. The practice is being questioned from all angles.
Anastasia Mann, the president of the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council spoke out about their concerns.
“We want good tourism. We want our tourists to be treated properly and to be happy. And to carry the right message back home about Hollywood.”
