An app called VizEat is aiming to connect strangers and dining options while they’re traveling abroad. The app first launched in 2104 with 50 different hosts and now it connects 22,000 hosts with 100,000 users around the world.
The connections made can provide opportunities for travelers to get an authentic meal in the country they’re visiting as well as meet new people in the process. It also offers the possibility to sign up for food tours, tastings, and take classes.
VizEat’s cofounder and CEO Jean-Michel Petit explains the concept behind the app.
“For many holidaymakers, a VizEat food experience with locals is often the highlight of any trip. Because travelers don’t have to radically change their travel habits to enjoy these great experiences, VizEat has partnered with a range of hospitality providers, harmoniously aligning itself with the tourism industry.”
