Anthony Bourdain has claimed that the Changi Airport in Singapore has the best out of all the airport food. He refers to an area referred to as the staff canteens, or as he says “It has a hawker center for the employees that’s open to the public.”
The canteens at the Singapore airport are located in a parking lot and serve dishes for under $5. They were initially planted out of the way of the general airport traffic because the airport didn’t think that they would be appealing to travelers.
Anthony also gave a shoutout to the Tokyo airport which “has a sushi bar right near the gates serving flights to the states that’s extraordinarily good for an airport sushi place.”
The Parts Unkown star and celebrity chef says that he’s particularly qualified to make these statements since he is “tragically familiar with the offerings at just about every airport in the world.”
