Amtrak has announced that they might be replacing their current seats with smaller ones to make room for more passengers. This is bad news for some since the seats have offered plenty of leg room thus far.
Amtrak Co-chief Executive Wick Moorman has explained that the company is losing money and they need to figure out how to turn that around.
“We are looking at doing some creative things in terms of creating an economy class.”
The current seat pitch is 42 inches on the trains, but they might reduce it to 31 to 35 inches. However, 31 to 35 inches is the same seat pitch as those on Delta. Delta’s former airline chief Richard Anderson just became the president and co-CEO of Amtrak on Wednesday.
