American Airlines will soon offer flights to Iceland. The airline will be offering service from Dallas Fort Worth Airport to Reykjavik’s Keflavík International Airport on a seasonal basis at first.
The first season will take place from June through October 2018, and reservations will open up on November 20. A few other airlines have added the same route recently, including WOW and Icelandair.
The summer season has continued to increase in popularity in Iceland. Between 2015 and 2016 the country saw a 40% increase in visitors. All the newfound popularity has led to an increased demand for hotels in the country as well. Some have even considered whether the increase in visitors has made the country too popular.
Either way the airlines are still willing to meet the demands. WOW Air has also introduced new flight routes from other U.S. cities as well. Some of the more recent additions include Boston, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Pittsburg, and Washington, D.C.
