Since American Airlines rolled out their new uniforms many flight attendants have been complaining about skin irritations and health problems. Not the pilots have started complaining as well.
More than 100 pilots have come forward to join the thousands of flight attendants asking for a change.
The Allied Pilots Association spokesman Dennis Tajer said:
“We’ve had pilots that are beginning to report the same reactions as our flight attendants. We had about 100 reports but we’re getting indications that there are more out there.”
The company that manufactured the garments has since tested them and claimed that the chemical levels should not be high enough to be causing any of the reported problems. American has decided not to pull the uniforms but is open to discussing other options with people who are suffering, such as wearing old uniforms or cotton garments.
