In 2017 American Airlines will be expanding its premium economy service. By April there should be a variety of new options. The premium economy service is aiming to offer a middle ground between the main cabin and business class.
The premium economy seats will be wider with plenty of legroom to extend the leather chairs into a relaxed position. The service will also include a free checked bag, amenity kits, noise reducing earphones, and “enhanced meal service with complimentary wine, beer, and spirits.”
Currently, the cost to upgrade costs $163 to $190 each way. The service is already available on routes from Dallas to Sao Paulo and Madrid, and soon will add Dallas-Fort Worth to Paris, and Dallas to Seoul.
