American Airline’s CEO Doug Parker has admitted to a “huge problem” with allergic reactions to the new uniforms they launched in September. He also admitted that he doesn’t know quite what to do about it.
Over six months, 3,000 employees have complained about reactions from the uniforms which include rashes and headaches.
Doug said it’s “a huge problem” and “as difficult an issue as we’ve ever had to deal with. So we’ve got to figure out how to address it. But we can’t keep it like this.”
While Doug recognizes that there’s a problem he has decided not to recall the uniforms, a decision that’s drawing controversy. With 70,000 employees he said it could take years to replace them.
“That can’t be the answer. We’ll keep working through it.”
