AmaWaterways has launched a new fitness program on their ships that should draw in a whole new clientele. Both the AmaLyra’s Paris and Normandy sailings will now offer six fitness classes each day.
The classes will be taught by “sports scientist” Selina Wank and offer things like cycling, jogging, and stretching. They will also be offering other health and wellness tips on board.
The company’s executive vice president and co-owner, Kristin Karst released a statement about the move.
“Being active and healthy while traveling is something that is personally, so important to me, and as a company, AmaWaterways has been embracing active travel for more than a decade. We believe guests are looking to take steps to ensure that their vacation time is an extension of their wellness-oriented lifestyle, and we are so happy to continue introducing new ways for travelers to remain healthy while on board our ships.”
The brand was actually the first cruise ship to offer bikes on board, so they’ve always been ahead of the fitness curve in travel.
