Alaska Airlines just merged with Virgin America and now is introducing new flights connection the east and west coast of the U.S. The new routes will fo between Portland and New York, Portland and Detroit, and Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
With the addition of the new flights, Alaska will become the most active carrier at Portland International Airport. The JFK link will offer west coast people more opportunities for transfers from there to Europe.
Alaska Airlines’ vice president John Kirby released a statement about the move.
“Alaska Airlines continues to expand service from our West Coast hubs by adding convenient, nonstop flights to popular destinations like New York City, Philadelphia, and Detroit. Whether traveling for business or leisure, we continue to meet the needs of our valued guests with more than 800 daily flights in over 300 markets originating from the West Coast.”
