Air India has made history by sending a flight around the world that was staffed by an all-female flight crew.
The flight successfully went around the world, going from New Delhi to San Francisco and then back again around the other side. On the way there they crossed the Pacific, and on the way back the Atlantic.
The flight path has been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records. According to the BBC not only were the pilots and all the crew on the plane women, but the air-ground controllers and the engineers checking the plane for safety were as well.
The move was a celebration of International Women’s Day, and Air India will continue to do something to mark the occasion on March 8 each year.
