Air Canada has introduced the first and only direct flight from Vancouver to India. The first non stop flight to Delhi took place on October 20.
Benjamin Smith, the President of Passenger Airlines at Air Canada spoke out about the launch.
“Our non-stop flights from our Asia-Pacific Vancouver hub feature 787-9 Dreamliner service and offer the shortest elapsed flying time from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles to the Indian subcontinent.
“Our non-stop flight, coupled with our streamlined and seamless connections process at YVR translates to a savings of three to five hours compared to itineraries with connections in Europe or Asia.”
The statement went on to explain the airline will offer Indian inspired dishes on the flights, as well as Bollywood hits as a part of the in flight entertainment.
Canada will continue making international expansion moves this year, and pending government approvals will soon launch Canada flight to Taipei, Nagoya, Mumbai, Berlin, Shanghai, Algiers, and Marseille.
