In 2014 Travel + Leisure readers voted New Orleans as a top destination in a number of categories on the annual America’s Favorite Cities list, including “Festivals,” “Notable Restaurants” and “Architecture.” Thousands of domestic visitors flock to the Louisianan city every February for the annual Mardi Gras festival.
