Well, this was somewhat unexpected. In spit of the fact that several experts indicated a dip in travel interest to the United Kingdom, it seems that hasn’t been the case at all. BREXIT might be unpopular in its home nation, but that hasn’t dissuaded travelers from heading their in droves.
According to The New York Times, visits from the United States to Britain have always been a big tourism boon to her her Majesty’s island nation, but post BREXIT, there’s every indication that number will increase drastically in 2016. Data from British Airways, for example, claims to have seen a nearly one hundred percent rise in the searches focused on flights from the US to the UK. Various travel sites like Expedia have also noted an increase in sales for trips and accommodations in the UK.
The reason for this is pretty understandable. Though travel is somewhat restricted beyond the UK once you get there, the result of BREXIT has seen a drop in normally high (at least compared to the United States) prices and the resulting drama surrounding Britain’s exit from the European Union has created a motivation on the part of Britain’s travel industry to insure that travelers have a great time.
