The town of Kampung Pelangi, in Randusari in south Semarang, Indonesia got the chance to give itself a makeover and went with a very bold color scheme. They were given a government bid for the project and instructed to paint 223 homes in a minimum of three colors each.
They went above that however and also painted walls and benches. The project was given a budget of 300 million Rp and also got some help from the Indonesian Builders Association in Semarang. Even the Mayor Hendrar Prihadi helped out.
