According to data released from a report by CheapOAir, the U.S. travel industry is increasing steadily.
The report compared the first quarter of 2017 with the first quarter of 2013 and found that domestic travel is up over 50 percent. International travel is up even more at 170 percent, thanks in part to a 15 percent increase between 2016 and 2017.
Domestically the most popular destinations include Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Charlotte, San Francisco, Denver, Newark, Houston, and Miami. Internationally the most popular destinations are Manila, Taipei, London, Toronto, Seoul, Mexico, Dubai, Istanbul, Beijing, and Paris.
Part of the increase in travel is due to the dropping of flight prices. Over the past five years the amount of U.S. flight passengers has increased 85 percent.
