On Thursday a flight was preparing to take off from George Bush Intercontinental Airport when a man claimed that a scorpion emerged from his clothing. The paramedics were called to the scene and determined that the man had not been stung.
United Airlines had to then remove everyone from the plane and have them board another plane. It’s unclear if the actual scorpion was found or not. The flight ended up being delayed for three hours because of the interruption and the passengers were given a free meal voucher to make up for it.
Apparently, scorpions on planes are not unheard of. In April a scorpion fell from an overhead compartment and stung the man that it fell onto. Another woman was stung on an Alaska flight in 2015.
