Orlando, Florida announced that 68 million people visited them in 2016. They shared the news at the 2017 Business of Travel & Tourism Economic Forum. A representative from the Guinness World Records was on hand to share the additional news that they had sent a record number of 3,144 handwritten cards to some of those visitors.
Those cards will then be sent out to people’s homes as part of the #OrlandosBIGThankYou promotion. The promotion will continue to run throughout the rest of the year.
George Aguel, the President and CEO of Visit Orlando spoke about the experience.
“Orlando’s visitation number represents the emotional connections we make with millions all over the world. The love they show us never ceases to inspire us and led us to launch a year-long campaign around two important words: thank you.”
