The U.S. has issued a travel alert for tourists traveling to Europe, which warns of the potential for tourist attacks. The U.S. State Department says that U.S. citizens “should always be alert to the possibility that terrorist sympathizers or self-radicalized extremists may conduct attacks with little or no warning.”

The alert is set to be in place until September 1 with the possibility of being extended. The warning points out that busy tourist spots are of high concern after recent incidents in France, Russia, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
A similar alert was issued for Europe last year.
