The Zoological Wildlife Conservation Center in Rainier, Oregon is offering a unique experience for sloth fans to get up close and personal with some of the animals.
The program they’re running allows people to have a sleepover at their center which will cost you $600 a night. You basically get to hang out with the sloths from 8 PM to 7:30 AM and are required to stay quiet so as not to disrupt them. Touching the sloths is not allowed.
“This is ideal for us and our sloths because we are a captive conservation center [first] and foremost and not a ‘for public entertainment’ ‘zoo.’ It allows the sloths all of the ultra quiet rest periods that they need to stay healthy. We do not double stack visitors to one group of sloths — they require their 15-18 hours of ‘beauty sleep’ per day.”
