MSC Cruises has announced their plan to “become mainstream,” as outlined by the company’s executive chairman Pierfrancesco Vago.
So far the brand has focused on Mediterranean areas, but now they have plans to head into North America. They will start by launching three ships out of Miami by 2019.
At the moment only ten percent of their cruise passengers are from North America. In addition to expanding their routes, the line also has plans to roll out wearable technology on all of their ships that is similar to Carnival Corporation’s Ocean Medallion.
The technology will be focused on the experience of the guest and will be launched by June 2017.
