Elon Musk has plans to fly two people to the moon in 2018 with the help of company SpaceX. The two people have not yet be identified but they have already paid a deposit for the trip and will start training for the mission this year.
The announcement reads:
“Like the Apollo astronauts before them, these individuals will travel into space carrying the hopes and dreams of all humankind, driven by the universal human spirit of exploration.”
In fact the launch will take place at Kennedy Space Center’s Pad 39A, which is where the Apollo missions did as well.
Elon added they are hoping to do two of these trips each year.
