Turks and Caicos have long been popular for its gorgeous setting and beautiful accommodations, but now the British territory is becoming more well known for its culinary offerings as well.
Nikheel Advani, the co-founder, and co-chair of the Caribbean Food & Wine Festival spoke out about the current state of food in the area.
“Turks and Caicos has become one of the hottest destinations for culinary travel in the Caribbean. The success of the Caribbean Food & Wine Festival put Turks and Caicos on the map as an international hub for the Caribbean food scene. Before farm-to-table became trendy, or even discussed, local seafood was available right off our shores and had always been a staple of our island diet.”
The Caribbean, of course., is a great place to enjoy a bunch of seafood, and the area is home to the world’s only commercial conch farm in addition to offering up things like fish and lobster.
