An Alaska Airlines flight attendant has rescued a human trafficking victim. The flight attendant was working a flight from Seattle to San Francisco when she noticed that something was off was with a male passenger and a “disheveled and out of sorts” girl.
The girl would not make eye contact with the flight attendant which led her to think that “Something in the back of my mind said something is not right.”
She whispered to the girl to go to the restroom, at which point she determined that she needed help and informed the pilot. The pilot immediately contacted the police and the man was arrested as soon as the plane landed.
“I’ve been a flight attendant for ten years and its like I am going all the way back to when I was in training and I was like I could have seen these young girls and young boys and didn’t even know.”
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested around 2,000 human traffickers and found 400 victims in 2016.
