The view of the sunrise from Haleakala National Park in Maui, Hawaii has gotten so popular that visitor hopefuls are now required to make a reservation to book their spot.
The location has always offered beautiful sites of a volcano peeking up through the clouds in the sunrise view, but with the increase of its popularity on social media more and more people are trying to go.
The park started to get traffic and the increase was threatening to cause issues with some of the vegetation.
The park superintendent Natalie Gates spoke about the sudden influx.
“If you ever went up there, you would see that fully half to three-quarters of our visitors who are watching the sunrise are either taking photos that they immediately broadcast to their friends, or filming it.”
Visitors can reserve up to 60 days in advance and then show up on their day between 3 and 7 AM.
