If there’s one thing you can find almost anywhere in the world it’s a Starbucks, and now you can make sure your order is correct every time. The brand has launched a “groundbreaking Artificial Intelligence” system through their app as well as Alexa that can be used to put in orders instead of talking to the barista.
The only problem is that it can throw off the flow a bit and the increase in mobile ordering might have pushed their sales down temporarily. Lots of app orders can put an extra strain on baristas, and when many people are waiting, it can lead other customers to leave before ordering. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz spoke out about fixing any issues.
“A growing number of stores are challenged to keep up with volume demands. The nature of it is too much demand. Operational challenge is a problem we have solved before. I assure you we can solve it again.”
